PBL Using AI Technology-based Learning Tools in a College English Class

This paper develops and evaluates a PBL-centered English language course for Korean college students that integrates AI-based learning tools (Naver Papago, Google Translate, Grammarly) for translation and grammar checking. The study examines student learning experiences across cognitive, affective, linguistic, and knowledge construction dimensions, finding both positive outcomes and concerns about tool dependency and technical limitations.

This study aims to develop and implement a PBL framework using AI technology-based learning tools, namely, Naver Papago, Google Translate, and Grammarly. The six-week framework was embedded into a General English course at a university, and a total of 20 students participated in the study.
