GPT-4 as a Homework Tutor can Improve Student Engagement and Learning Outcomes
This paper presents a randomized controlled trial (RCT) evaluating GPT-4 as an interactive homework tutor for high-school ESL students, measuring its impact on learning outcomes (grammar gains) and student engagement compared to traditional homework. The study demonstrates significant improvements in learning outcomes and student satisfaction through Socratic-style interactive homework sessions.
