This paper validates the Odychess approach, a dialectical and constructivist methodology for teaching chess using generative AI (fine-tuned Llama 3.3) as a Socratic tutor. A quasi-experimental study (N=60) with pre-test/post-test design measured improvements in chess knowledge, strategic comprehension, and metacognitive skills.
