Artificial intelligence (AI) learning tools in K-12 education: A scoping review
This scoping review examines 46 studies on AI literacy education in K-12 contexts, analyzing pedagogical strategies, learning tools (e.g., Scratch, Teachable Machine, Machine Learning for Kids), assessment methods, and student learning outcomes across cognitive, affective, and behavioral domains. The review identifies age-appropriate AI learning tools and effective pedagogical approaches (project-based, human-computer collaborative, play/game-based) for teaching AI concepts to K-12 students.

In this paper, 46 studies in academic conferences and journals are reviewed to investigate pedagogical strategies, learning tools, assessment methods in AI literacy education in K-12 contexts, and students’ learning outcomes. The investigation reveals that the promotion of AI literacy education has seen significant progress in the past two decades. This high
